New depot location in Newport ready for increased volumes

To support increased demand from customers in the South West and South Wales, IPP Logipal has expanded its UK operations with the opening of a new pallet depot at Newport in Gwent.

The move is part of the strategic development of the UK network by the pallet rental specialist and creates six new jobs at the site, which covers a total of 53,800 sq ft (5,000 sq m).

Initially the facility will carry stock of up to 20,000 pallets and handle a throughput of 400,000 pallets per annum with capacity to expand the operation.

IPP Logipal will distribute, sort and collect pallets used by manufacturers to supply products to retailers in the region. All pallets will be subject to the company’s rigorous quality control checks and a full repair service will also be provided.

This deal was completed through Corporate Solutions and is based adjacent to the Norbert Dentressangle distribution centre on Corporation Road.

“The new site is part of our plans for the ongoing expansion of the IPP Logipal network across the UK to provide increased coverage and improved capability throughout the South West,” says Phil Storer, managing director of IPP Logipal.

“We are already looking to establish additional network capacity as more customers’ recognise the value of our comprehensive supply chain service.”
